Lucni Bouda

Pec pod Sně?kou 203, Pec pod Snizkou

Property Description

Lucní Bouda is the highest situated mountain hostel in the Czech Republic, it is 1410m above the sea-level. You have a view over the highest peak of the Giant Mountains (Krkono?e) - the Sně?ka mountain (1610m).

Its history can be traced back to the 16th century, when in the World War II it was rebuilt by the Nazi Wermacht to train soldiers for the arctic condition. The carefully protected area of Krkono?e National Park offers visitors a beautiful nature with a lot of endemic species.

Right in front of the house is the spring of the White Elbe and also a large moss meadow which is the spring of the Úpa River.

You can make exciting trips on the mountain ranges and enjoy amazing views, especially seeing the sunrise from the top of the Sně?ka Mountain.

In the winter you can go skiing as the Czech Main Ski-Centre Pec pod Sně?kou with ski-tows is just 8km downhill.

Directions

In Northern Bohemia you can take the bus or car to Pec pod Sně?kou, then you can either take the cableway up to the Sně?ka mountain and then follow the signs, or just walk uphill (8km) in the direction of Výrovka cottage (then follow the sticks). Otherwise you can call the reception and order a pick-up (in the winter time we use the snowmobile).

Lucní Bouda is in a very protected area and that´s why cars are not allowed there.
