  • The Hotel Sct. Thomas, located on a quiet city street on the border of Frederiksberg and Vesterbro, has everything we like to find in a budget hotel: a fantastic location (in an elite residential neighborhood nonetheless), lots of perks, and really charitable hosts. It's housed in a gorgeous beige building dating back to the Victorian era with Greek columns and foliage. Green parkland covers the west side, which is also home to the Carlsberg Brewery. Cheers!

Sct. Thomas has 45 single and double rooms that are all equipped with cable and satellite television. You'll either walk into one that has a metal-framed or wooden bed, or maybe your luck will take you to a room with modern, IKEA-like feel to it. If chic isn't your style, then maybe you'll win with a room that takes you back to the 1950s. It makes for a fascinating mix no matter what.

Bathrooms also come in various forms and sizes. Some have private baths, with a shower but no toilet, and others have facilities in the hall. The shared toilets and showers are mega clean. Rooms in the back face the rear of a building, but a have a view of some nice greenery too. The lounge has the feel of a family living room and the big breakfast room, with its large windows, is perfect for a morning cup of tea.
