When you stay at Birmingham Backpackers you become part of our family! We are more than your typical independent backpacker's hostel, in that when you stay with us, we try to our best to make you feel like you are at home. Our hostel is one of the friendliest and cosiest in England. Our international staff are well aware of what you look for in a place to stay when you are on your travels.

We are pleased to offer the following:

? Clean fresh beds in quiet, spacious rooms.

? Broadband internet stations and Wi Fi in all the building free of charge.

? Fully-fitted kitchen with a stove, oven, sandwich maker, griller, toaster, crock pot and microwave. We have storage space in the cupboards and a refrigerator/freezer for guests use. We also have a dining area as you can see in the pictures where you can enjoy your breakfast, use your laptop and read a paper.

? Self-service breakfast each morning of tea, coffee or hot chocolate along with toast, various jams, vegemite, peanut butter and also fresh fruit.

? Clean bathrooms where you bath in private.

? A spacious common area with a large colour television and Sky TV with plenty of DVD's, videos, games and books to keep you entertained.

? Tourist information point with lots of maps and helpful advice on Birmingham and the UK.

? Friendly international staff that can help you with what to do in Birmingham, how to get about the city and how to go about going on day trips.

? Friendly pub downstairs that offers meals, drinks, pool and a fun night out.

Birmingham Backpackers is located close to Birmingham's city centre. We are a short trip from some of the best shops, city attractions and nightclubs in the West Midlands. The NEC, NIA and Carling Academy are easily accessible as are New Street Station, Broad Street, the ICC, The Bull Ring Shopping Centre, The Jewellery Quarter, Cadbury World, The Balti Triangle and The Digbeth Coach Station.

Our staff take pride in their polite and friendly manner and you will feel more like part of our family than simply a customer. There is a real community feel here and the staff are eager to help you.

Check in time is ideally between 1pm-11pm, but we are flexible and understand there are delays. There is a 2.30 am curfew on Friday and Saturday nights.

Directions

Birmingham Backpackers is located at 263 Mosley Road B12 0EA. We are a 10 minute walk from the centre of town. From town follow Hurst St to Sherlock Street and turn right. Continue to Conybere street. Follow to the top where you will see the Birmingham Backpackers sign.

Directions to Birmingham Backpackers at the Merry Maid Pub

Directions from New Street Station:
By taxi: There are taxi ranks outside both exits of the station. We are roughly 5-10 minute taxi ride away.

By bus: Exit New Street Station and walk down New Street towards the Bull Ring Shopping Centre. When you see the NatWest Bank, take a left. Walk down the ramp. At the end of the ramp is a bus stand labeled bus stand N. Get on the #50 bus going towards Druids Heath. You will need £1.20 for bus fare, drivers do not give change. Ask the driver to get off at the FIRE STATION on Moseley Road or on the corner of Upper Conybere Street and Moseley Road. We are located right on the corner at The Merry Maid 263 Moseley Road and Upper Conybere Street.

From the Digbeth Coach Station:

By taxi: There are taxi ranks right outside the bus station. It is a five minute taxi ride from Digbeth Coach Station.

By bus: Walk out of the coach station and take a right onto Rea Street . The Bus stop is on the left side of the road. It will say #50 bus going towards Druid Heath. You will need £1.20 for bus fare, drivers do not give change. Ask the driver to get off at the FIRE STATION on Moseley Road or on the corner of Upper Conybere Street and Moseley Road. We are located right on the corner at The Merry Maid 263 Moseley Road at the corner of Moseley and Upper Conybere Street.
