This Georgian listed building used to belong to Scott of the Antarctic's Surgeon - it is said that the dining room was once his surgery!

The inside of the building still has many original features: high ceilings, fireplaces and ornate doorways. Relax in the sunshine in our large, private back garden....watch the many fish and frogs in the garden pond.

What to see in Dover
Start your visit to our beautiful county of Kent with a trip to Dover Castle (with 2000 years of history) - most definitely recommended by staff and customers! The castle is in such excellent condition you'll imagine yourself back in Henry VIII's time. While you're there, visit the war-time tunnels under the castle....see what life was like in the tunnels during the 2nd World War...very realistic! Of course there are also plenty of other attractions in the surrounding areas....and who could miss the unique White Cliffs of Dover.

Location
Just 10 mins' walk from the town centre shops and bus/train stations. 20-25 mins from the ferry ports. See 'Directions' for further info.

Facilities
We can change your Euros or $ into £Stirling and have discount ferry/seacat tickets to Calais. Of course we also have internet access and the payphone accepts incoming calls so you can keep in touch with family/friends.

Rooms
Your reservation via this website is for beds in single-sex dormitories of 8-10 beds however we also offer 2, 4 and 6-bedded rooms. If you would like to upgrade to a private room with family or friends, please contact us after you book (contact details will be given on the confirmation email received after you book).

Meals
A full breakfast is included in the price and served 0730hrs-0930hrs (have cereal, juice, tea, coffee and hot chocolate then choose from English breakfast, Vegetarian, Croissants, Scrambled Eggs or Yoghurt with Fruit).

If you are leaving early to catch a ferry, give us advance notice and we will provide a packed breakfast instead for no additional cost!

Other meals available include evening meals (usually served 1830hrs-1930hrs) and picnic lunches.

Although membership of this organisation or the International Youth Hostel Federation is not obligatory, there is a £3 non-member supplement, payable on arrival. GREAT NEWS!...do you have a YHA or HI card AND valid student ID? Show both cards on arrival and get a further discount!

Reception closes at 22.30hrs - check-in must be before this time. There is a 2300hrs curfew at this hostel.
