Located in central Newcastle Gateshead, easily reached from the Airport, Train and Bus/Coach stations. Walking distance from all cultural attractions including Shops, Supermarkets, River Tyne Bridges, Quayside, Sage Music Centre, Baltic Art gallery and city restaurants and nightlife. The nearest Metro/Bus station is just 350m from the door.

City View is also close to the Angel of the North landmark sculpture, 11 minutes by bus and also the Gateshead Metro Centre (one of Europe's largest shopping centres) by an express bus link. The beautiful coast and sandy beach is 35-minutes on the Metro. The Roman Hadrian's Wall world heritage site is accessible by bus.

City View is in a quiet street next to a park. It is a small, friendly and quiet place, suited to single or pairs of travellers, NOT big groups. City View welcomes International students, backpackers and cultural travellers.

Inspired by travelling around Europe and staying in lots of small budget accommodation, City View brings the same homely feel to Newcastle Gateshead.

1) CHECK IN - Open from 3pm to 8pm (15h00-20h00). You will need PHOTO ID (VALID PASSPORT). Please print out your confirmation, bring it with you and pay IN CASH the FULL balance due upon arrival. You will need a £10 (returnable) cash deposit for the room and locker key

2) CANCELATION POLICY - If you do not give us 24 hours notice (1 day) of your 'no show' by e-mail, City View will unfortunately have to debit your card. The amount charged will be your first night's accommodation. Phone cancellations are NOT ACCEPTED.

3) CURFEW / LOCKOUT - Midnight to 9pm (00h00-09h00). City View is closed 9 hours, when you cannot enter but, of course, you can get out. This is so you can sleep and so as not to disturb City View's neighbours.

4) NO GROUPS. City View is friendly but NOT a 'party house'. Note, groups over 3 people, Stag, Hen or Football parties, drinking tours or anything similar are NOT accepted. You will NOT be allowed to check-in.

5) AGE RESTRICTION. No children. You must be over 18.

6) NO SMOKING. Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere on the premises. It is the law.

7) ACCOMMODATION. This is friendly, cheap and basic independant 'lodger style' accommodation. City View is NOT a Hotel.

8) NO DOGS. No dogs or other pets are allowed.

9) CHECK OUT - Before 11am (11h00).

Directions

(1) FROM NEWCASTLE AIRPORT

It is cheap and easy to take the Metro to 'Gateshead' station. The ticket costs around £2.70. The train journey is approximately 25 minutes with a 3 minute (350m) walk.

At 'Gateshead' metro station go up the stairs or escalator and turn right. IMPORTANT! Leave the station by the exit signposted 'Bensham Road'. At the top of the stairs turn right. THE CHURCH SHOULD BE ON YOUR LEFT AND THE BUS STATION ON YOUR RIGHT. Walk 150m up the hill to a pedestrian crossing. Cross the road and go straight ahead for 30m and then enter the park on your right, by a statue. On the far side of the park (150m) you can see some houses. This street is 'Village Heights'. 'City View' is the first house on the right side, number 74.

Taxis from the airport are expensive at about £20. The journey will take about 15 minutes.

(2) FROM NEWCASTLE CENTRAL RAILWAY STATION

Find the entrance to the Metro system (marked with a yellow 'M'). Go down the stairs and buy a ticket to 'Gateshead'. This costs approximately £1.30 for a single journey. Take any train from platform 1. Now follow directions given above in (1).

(3) FROM NEWCASTLE BUS AND COACH STATION

Walk 400m to the Newcastle Central Railway station - Go through the gap in buildings at the back of the bus station, crossing the road and pass through the 'Centre for Life' square. The railway station's main entrance is on your right, under an arch. Enter the station and turn left. On your left you will see the yellow 'M'. This is the entrance to the Metro system. Now follow instructions given above in (2).
