About YHA The Ridgeway

Set on the edge of the Berkshire Downs with views over the Vale of the White Horse, this is a heaven-sent base for walkers with Britain's oldest route, the Ridgeway National Trail, just 500 metres away.

The well-maintained hostel is a collection of converted timber barns built around a courtyard. If you appreciate a hefty dose of peace then you'll also enjoy spending time in the extensive grounds that include a beech wood conservation area.

Facilities include information point, lounge, TV, self-catering kitchen, dining room, showers, cycle store and laundry facilities.

Meals available include breakfast, picnic lunch and evening meal. Evening meals are available at 19.00 hrs.

YHA The Ridgeway is part of the Youth Hostel Association and membership of this organisation or the International Youth Hostel Federation is required. It can be purchased on arrival. Non members can pay a £3 per overnight supplement.

Directions

From M4 take Jct 14, follow signs to Wantage. From Oxford A420 turn on to A338. Well signed from A338 and market square. No direct route from the Ridgeway West. Access only from A338.

Stagecoach 32/A, X35, 36 from BR Didcot Pkwy to Wantage, 2m.

Train information:
Didcot Parkway 10m.
