About Hostel Mekka

Hostel Mekka, founded in 1936, is located in a building constructed at the end of the 18th century. We offer the best possible location right in the center of Helsinki just two blocks from Senate Square. The main attractions such as the shops, nightclubs, restaurants, bars and public transport are just around the corner.

Hostel Mekka is located in a quiet courtyard where our 30 clean, cosy and individually furnished rooms are reasonably priced.

Directions

-Hostel Mekka is located close to Railway Station Square. From there walk to the east corner of railway station square towards Kaisaniemenkatu (Kaisaniemistreet) Walk uphill past
Irish pub Molly Malones and after Wayne´s coffee shop turn right. Walk
the stairs up and you are at Vuorikatu. Walk 50 meters and Hostel Mekka is
in courtyard (address Vuorikatu 8). Distance from railway station to Mekka
is ~400meters. After 6pm and weekends mainentrance is closed.
Ring doorbell to get in. Reception is open 24 hours.


-By metro or tram: Kaisaniemi stop. Walk stairs up to Vuorikatu.

-From airport choose between Finnair airport shuttle bus(5,60?), city bus 615 (3,40?) or taxi (about 30?). You find all these departing outside the terminal. With buses go all the way to the last stop (central railway station).
