About La Salière

'La Salière' is a farm in the country, ideally located between Annecy & Aix-les-Bains in the French Alps.

We are not an hotel nor an hostel. We are a Guesthouse/Bed & Breakfast, which means that we are a family that have converted part of our huge house to receive guests. We are situated not in Annecy itself but in the countryside 15 km away from Annecy train station. The nearest train station is Rumilly which is at 3 km from us. There is no bus from the train station to us. You need either to walk or to take a taxi. Taxi which need to be ordered (we can do it for you) as we are in a small city and there is no taxi waiting at the train station.

The hosts share common areas including a living room and a dining room, as well as a fully equipped kitchen with direct access to the garden.

Our 5 guestrooms are situated in the recently renovated part of the farm. Each of them is larger than 20 m2 and has a fully equipped en suite bathroom with complimentary shower and bath products.

The double room is made of a double bed (160cm wide).
The triple room is made of a double bed (160cm wide) plus 1 single bed.
The quadruple room is made of a double bed (160cm wide) plus 2 single beds.

The historical town of Annecy is nearby, where you can enjoy the XIVth century old town as well as its Museum. You can also visit the medieval castles of Montrottier and Clermont.

The area will also suit anybody who is looking for outdoor activities such as cycling, fishing, horse riding, sailing and scuba diving. During the winter you can go to the local skiing resorts which are just a short drive away. Alpine ski resorts are further away, approximately 1 hour's drive for La Clusaz & le Grand Bornand.

The rooms are non smoking and we do not accept pets. Credit cards are not accepted.

As part of the French Label 'Gîtes de France', we will send you an offical Gîte de France contract when you book with us.

Directions

La Salière is in the heart of the Savoyard village of Sales. Ideally located halfway between Annecy and Aix-les-Bains, Sales is a short distance from Rumilly train station (3 km) as well as TGV stop Annecy, Aix-les-Bains and Chambéry.
You need a car or to take a taxi from the train station to reach us.

Coming from North

Coming from Bellegarde by the motorway A40, take exit 11 Eloise. Then follow directions to Frangy. At Frangy, follow the signs to Rumilly.

Coming from Geneva via Cruseilles, at Saint-Julien-en-Genevois take the road N 201 direction Annecy. After passing Cruseilles, continue on to Alonzier-la-Caille and then take the motorway direction Annecy/Chambéry. Take the exit 15 Rumilly / Alby-sur-Chéran.

Coming from South

From Geneva or Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, you can take the motorway as far as Rumilly. After Nangy toll take the A41 direction Annecy / Chambéry. Take the exit 15 Rumilly / Alby-sur-Chéran.
Coming from Lyon, after Chambéry follow the motorway direction Annecy / Genève and the exit is after Aix-les-Bains, exit 15 Rumilly / Alby-sur-Chéran.
Coming from Grenoble, follow Geneva direction, after Chambéry follow the motorway direction Annecy / Genève and take the exit 15 Rumilly / Alby-sur-Chéran.


From Exit 15, follow Rumilly direction. Reaching Rumilly, after the second round about, take right the D910 direction Rumilly Centre. After the Peugeot garage, located on the left, take the 'Poids Lourd' deviationon the left at the green light. Follow the fast lane till the end at the round about. Then go straight on, following direction Annecy, Marcellaz, Sales (Chef Lieu).
After the second green light continue straigyht on direction Annecy, Marcellaz, Sales (Chef Lieu). After approximately 1,800 km, you will see on the right a sign 70 km/h and Clarafond. At this stage slow down as the road for Sales is at 200 m on the left. Take this road and go to the village center. After the bakery 'boulangerie du Benon', la Salière is 50 mètres further on the right on the main road.
