In the south of France, a project nurtured over several years by a group of enthusiastic nature and animal lovers has become reality. Here, you will find tourism at its most unimposing, where hotel and farm life combine to provide stimulation and relaxation for a person's whole being.

Horseriding: Getting to know a new friend.
Under professional supervision, new riders get acquainted with the finer points of being in the saddle. In the estate's own ring from the first day, they gain confidence in themselves and in their horse which they each clean, bridle and saddle personally.
A first outing in a small group soon follows the getting-ready stage. Sorties are programmed daily keeping to unpaved trails or bridlepaths. Thus, the rider acquires the sure horsemanship. This roaming in the countryside is an exceptional experience. Over and above the expertise acquired, a week's apprenticeship with 15 hours in the saddle engenders an intense feeling of freedom.

The broad acres of the Domaine de Fraisse lie in the Aude 'département', just 13 km south of the famous 'Cité de Carcassonne'. The estate land covers more than 250 acres, with coppiced woodland pungent with aromas, fields, meadowland and vineyards surrounded by gentle hills. Together, they form a superb setting for the horse-riding life that has pride of place on the estate. It is a place of rugged beauty, of relaxation and discovery. Altogether, you might say, a place of 'savoir vivre' - life as it should be, committed to active pleasures.
Price for riding week: Euro 200.--, for the hour: Euro 16.--

Our three centuries old manor house offers cozy, comfortable accommodation. You can choose between several apartments, simply furnished and with terrace, shower/wc, or bedrooms with shared bathrooms for guests on a more modest budget.

Cuisine: Rich and, need it be said, regional
All the Domaine de Fraisse, the finest palate will enjoy the wide range of food accompanied by the smooth local wine. Provided notice is given, we also cater for vegetarian and special diets. The cost for our meal service is Euro 18.-- . Breakfast buffet is available for only Euro 6.-- per person.

You can relax in the library, around the fireplace in the lounge or in the clubhouse which offers panoramic views of the Domaine and further afield. All this is before you have your aperitif in our gardens and taste our cuisine.....
