The quiet and simple Hotel Louvre Richelieu is just a hop, skip and a bow away from the Palais Royal?and a short walk to the Louvre. The best thing about Richelieu is that it's tucked away just above a boulangerie, great for popping in and getting that perfect a.m. croissant.

The room is supposed to have a shower. It's really a bathtub with a hose connected to a shower head. The shower head has to be held up by hand while showering, if not held high enough, the hose gets a kink and stops allowing much water to come through. Also, we realized after we brought all our things to the room, there is a sign stating "no food allowed in rooms." We had to eat up the food we had bought at the grocery store already, and couldn't save any for later -- good thing we only were staying 2 nights. To state the positive along with the negative, the room was very spacious compared to the other we stayed at in Paris (with same price), and felt much cleaner. This was very much appreciated!!! Maybe it's good they don't allow food in the rooms!
