"Like a cheap highway motel in the heart of Paris"

Rive Gauche is located in a very nice part of Paris. Its located right around the corner from the infamous Laduree, as well as lots of high end luxury stores such as Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and Mont Blanc. The reception managers are adorable and very nice. The hostel itself is run down and kind of creepy looking. The rooms look almost exactly like any seedy motel you've stayed at on a road trip - dark, stuffy, and dirty. There is only wifi in the reception area so don't get settled into bed with your laptop. All in all, I don't regret staying here, but for the price (about $300 for 3 nights) you can probably find a budget hotel. The "air conditioning" is also just a fan. Its effective though but you need to get up at night to reset the maximum 120 minute timer.
