Plakias Hill

Plakias, Crete

Property Description

In the area of Plakias, overlooking the bay and the surrounding valleys, we have developed a new, small group of 3 houses in a style which pays respect to the local architecture, offering excellent views and serviced by a private road, which runs through our family olive groves.

Each house consists of about 80 square meters with similar basic structure and layout and can accommodate 2 - 4 people comfortably.

The Plakias area is well known for its beautiful, sandy beaches for those who love the sea; valleys and ravines for those who prefer hiking or long walks; and the picturesque Cretan villages with their traditional colour for those who wish to taste some of the local flavour and mix with the local people.

Directions

GETTING TO CRETE
Crete has two international airports, one in Heraklion the other in Chania, and three major ports, Heraklion, Chania and Rethymno. These towns are linked along the north coast by the island's main road network. The network stretches to Castelli to the west and Agios Nikolaos to the east.

Plakias is situated some 30 kilometers south of Rethymno from where there is a regular daily bus service. Alternatively taxi ranks at the airports and in the larger towns should display tariffs for the journey to Plakias.

GETTING TO PLAKIAS HILL
For those who wish to make their own way by car you need to follow the road leaving Rethymno for Spili going inland and to the south. If you are on the main Heraklion - Chania road you will see a large green sign indicating Spili. After about 17 kilometers there is a sign to the right for Plakias and Preveli, take this turning. After 500 meters you will pass through the village of Koxare and 4 kilometers later the road follows the Kourtaliotis Gorge. At the end of this Gorge is the village Asomatos and on leaving Asomatos there is a turning to the left for Plakias. IGNORE THIS and go straight on until you reach the village of Mariou . One kilometer after the village you turn left at the junction going to Plakias and after about 400 meters on the right you will see the access road which leads to the PLAKIAS HILL Villas.
