Property Description

Kilronan House is a listed Georgian style townhouse (1834), comfortable and warm with its original cornicing, Waterford Crystal chandeliers and ceiling roses. There is a deliberately unhurried and timeless elegance to the place which has been running as a guest house for 60+ years.

Recent renovations have brought the private bathrooms and bedroom accommodations up to the 21st century standards. We also feature private secure parking for our guests. Our beds are all highest quality orthopaedic beds to ensure a peaceful night's sleep. The sitting room is classically comfortable, the breakfast mouth watering.Free parking and Internet available.

And, of course, the service to our guests is personal and attentive. Among our special services, we are happy to arrange dinner and theatre reservations, tours of Dublin and the nearby sights like the Wicklow Mountains and megalithic monuments at Newgrange.

We're located in the quieter and lovelier Georgian quarter of the city centre. Just around the corner is the National Concert Hall and Dublin's main cultural and heritage sights are mostly within a 10 to 15 minute walk. So are the main shopping areas via lovely St. Stephen's Green. Dublin airport is a 20 minute drive.

Dublin is one of the great entertainment spots of Europe. Opera and orchestral concerts, Irish traditional music and dancing, rock and roll and everything from visiting African dance troupes to Japanese Taiko drums make their appearance in Ireland's capital city.

There's rarely an event that takes place in Dublin that isn't within a 10 to 15 minute walk of Kilronan House. And Dublin's streets are often more thronged at night, if that's physically possible, than during the day.

Directions

Kilronan House is located in the quieter Georgian quarter of Dublin - yet a 5 to 10 minute walk brings you to the bustling heart of the city.

Directions from the Airport:

Upon leaving the airport, the signs are well marked for the City Centre, in Irish 'An Lar'. The freeway soon becomes a city street. Eventually, after several name changes, the longest length being Drumcondra Road, the Airport Road becomes Dorset Street. Turn left onto Gardner Street at the Auld Triangle Pub. Come around the Custom House with its blue-green dome and cross the Liffey River on Talbot Memorial Bridge.

Immediately after the bridge, turn right along the river on George's Quay Street. This becomes Burgh Quay and at O'Connell Street Bridge (The Harp Bar) turn left onto D'Olier Street. Stay left.

At the front of Trinity College turn left for Nassau Street. Take second right turn up Kildare Street. At the top by St. Stephen's Green turn left onto Merrion row. On Merrion Row take the first right turn for Pembroke road. At the top of Pembroke turn right onto Leeson Street. Drive back towards St. Stephen's Green and turn left for Earlsfort terrace. At the top of Earlsfort at T-junction turn right and we are the fifth house on the right.

We know this sounds complicated, but it's actually reasonably straightforward. Many of the roads in central Dublin are one way or pedestrianised, hence the complications.
