Skibbereen has heaps to offer visitors with its golden beaches, stunning scenery, Heritage Centres, challenging golf courses, to name just a few of the attractions.
The town of Skibbereen is home to many thriving Restaurants, and a large numbers of hostelries, many of which feature traditional Irish Music, ballads, etc. Other towns and sites to visit, all within a twenty mile radius, include Rosscarbery, Union Hall, Glandore, Baltimore, Ballydehob, Schull, Bantry, while the Mizen Head, with its Visitor Centre, is the southern most point of Ireland, and well worth a visit on a fine day.
Every Wednesday and Friday Skibbereen plays host to two markets that are visited by farmers and locals from around the county. This is rural Ireland at its best. The cattle market runs on Wednesdays, whilst general goods run on Fridays.
