The conservative restoration did not modify the original image of the structure in the historical context of Bologna. Several recovery works in the last years have revalued the exterior and have adapted the interior.

The staff is at the customer's disposal and can organize a night at the theatre or in the city's best restaurants. They will also organize sightseeing tours of the city and its museums.

On arrival at Bologna Airport G. Marconi:
Bologna's Guglielmo Marconi airport is situated 6km from the city centre.

There are no porters available, although there are a limited number of luggage trolleys, which are free of charge. There is a bureau de change facility.

From airport to the city centre:

By taxi:
Taxis are available from the airport to the city centre; the journey takes about 15/20 minutes and costs approximately 12-15 euros.

By bus:
The Aereobus bus service operates from outside the main terminal building between 6am-11.50pm. It operates approximately every 20 minutes, tickets can be purchased on board and cost 4.50 euros. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes making only 2 or 3 stops along the way to the city centre.

The nearest bus stop to the Hotel Metropolitan is: Via Indipendenza Arena del Sole theatre.

An alternative bus service is Cittadino 91 which operates every hour from just outside the airport. Tickets can be bought at the tobacco kiosk inside the main terminal building at the cost of 1 euro but this bus stops at all stops on the way into the city consequently taking much longer.
