At Castello apartments you can experience the best of two worlds.
Situated only 3 km from the centre of Florence, on the city-centre's doorstep, this beautiful 18th Century Villa housing three apartments, is set on four acres of olive trees, and has a private swimming pool. The Villa is situated in Castello, an area of great historical importance, on one of Florence's amazing hills. From the property you can enjoy an incredible panoramic view of all of Florence.

These newly renovated suites are a pleasing blend of traditional Tuscan architecture and modern convenience and design. Windows with vistas of Florence center, the Villa Petraia tower, or the garden brighten these airy and quiet quarters. Exposed timber ceilings and terracotta tile floors contribute to the characteristic charm of this Tuscan home. Some suites includes a well-appointed kitchen-marble or tile counters, refrigerator, and cooktop. Bathrooms offer showers or tub. Apartments are also equipped with tv/dvd players. In addition, each apartment has a terrace with table for outdoor dining, and a barbeque grill is available in the garden. The garden offers sunset views of the Arno valley and surrounding mountains. Private parking available within the gates.

Castello apartments has its own production of Olive Oil , and guests coming in november can have a look at how we produce this marvellous and natural made oil.
From the Olive Oil ad fresh vegetables from the land we make our own homemade recipies. Guests can partecipate in a gastronomic and cultural cooking lesson for only 30 euros.

Castello is an area of great historical importance.
Several Renaissance villas are located within walking distance from the apartments. The Villa Reale and Villa Petraia, both belonging to the Medici family, are famous for their architecture and as striking examples of Italian formal gardens.

Villa Petraia was also home to king Vittorio Emanuele II, who summered in Castello when Florence became the capital of Italy in 1865.
Further down the road from Villa Petraia, you'll see Villa Bel Riposo. Carlo Lorenzi Collodi, the author of Pinocchio lived here while he was writing this popular story. All the characters in Pinocchio were drawn from real persons living in and around Castello.

Castello is an area of great natural beauty.
The countryside surrounding the Villa is splendid for long or short walks. Narrow roads wind along ancient stone walls up the mountainside. Marvel at the rustic farm houses and splendid villas that sit amongst acres of silver-leafed olive trees. Guests are invited to stroll throught the The Castelo apartment's own olive grove to enjoy views of Villa Petraia and vistas of the Arno valley and the city of Florence.

From Amerigo Vespucci Airport:

Complimentary Pick-Up for a low cost. Make arrangements with us one week prior to your arrival, and we'll meet you at the airport. Guests will need to provide the flight number and arrival time via email or phone. Be sure to keep us updated on your flight status should any changes occur.

Driving. If you rent a car at the airport, the drive to the Castello apartments takes about 10 minutes. Follow signs to Centro. When the road splits, keep left and follow signs for Centro - Rifredi. From there, keep left towards Castello, then go straight, following signs for Sesto F. and Carabinieri Cinofili. After a curve, take the first road to the right, still following signs indicating Carabinieri Cinofili. Continue uphill along the winding road until you curve around a small church on the right. Follow the road uphill another 200 meters and just as the road curves sharply left, you'll see Via della Covacchia on the right.

Taxi. The apartments are only 4 km from the airport. A taxi will charge about 10 euros.


From Santa Maria Novella train station:

Bus. Take bus #28 towards Castello. Get off on Via Sestese at bus stop 5 (ask the bus driver). From there it is 5 minutes by taxi, or you can walk. On foot, it should take about 15 minutes as the road is entirely uphill. Follow signs for Villa Petraia. You'll come to a small church. From here, continue uphill another 200 meters and just as the road curves sharply left, you'll see Via della Covacchia on the right.

Taxi. Castello apartments are about four km from the central train station. A taxi will cost about 20 euros. We recommend this option for guests carrying several pieces of luggage.

From the Autostrada by car:

Take the Firenze Nord (north Florence) exit. When the road splits, keep left and follow signs for Centro - Rifredi. From there, keep left towards Castello, then continue on, following signs for Sesto F. and Carabinieri Cinofili. After a curve, take the first road to the right, still following signs indicating Carabinieri Cinofili. Continue uphill along the winding road until you curve around a small church on the right. Follow the road uphill another 200 meters and just as the road curves sharply left, you'll see Via della Covacchia on the right.
