"Fantastic place with air conditioning and soundproof windows!"

Situated at the top of Via Carol Alberto, one block off Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore and four blocks south of Termini station, Hotel Montreal is our "sure bet" for a hotel in Rome. It's not exactly cheap, but it is reliable – and popular, so make sure you book well in advance.
The Montreal is part of a residential building and has 27 rooms. They occupy several floors of the building. Decor generally varies by floor, but for most part the rooms are decked out Venetian-style with enticing gold, green, cream, and peach walls and fabrics offset by dark wood furnishings. Ornate gold frames bring a little bit of spice to standard prints in the rooms and around the bathroom mirror. Baths are tiled and have sleek, glass showers.
Half of the Montreal's rooms face the street (each corner room has an extraordinary view of Santa Maria Maggiore), and the other half look down to the hotel's pretty garden. All rooms have air-conditioning and come soundproofed (major bonus!). The downstairs breakfast room is also quite pleasant.
