  • My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights while visiting Rome on our honeymoon. When we arrived in the train station we had thought that the hotel was a short walk away from the station, (according to their website). We asked the tourist information lady where our hotel was and which way to walk. She took out a huge map and said that our hotel was too far north and that it was not on her map. So we had to take a bus, and it took us an hour to find the place. Finally after searching with all of our luggage we arrived. The man at the front desk was polite but it is because the room we had reserved was not ready. He told us that we had to have to separate rooms upstairs just for one night. I was not pleased but I had nowhere else to go. The lift only goes to the fifth floor, and we had to carry our luggage the rest of the way. When we went into the little attic rooms they were boiling hot and smelled of flagellants. I broke open a window and started to look for the ac. Apparently they shut the ac off in November because it only gets to be 70 degrees outside. Our room had a little jail cell window that we couldn't see out of. We went back into the lobby and asked about internet. The internet cost 6 euros and was extremely slow, about 10 mbps. We could only use the internet in the lobby because the router they have for floors 2-6 was not working, and they probably weren't going to fix it anytime soon. However the man at the front desk said that we were allowed 1 free drink each because of the hotels mistakes. So I sat down at the bar and I was going to tell them what we wanted. On the contrary, the man said something to the bellhop in Italian and we were brought 2 warm, free, Italian beers. I took a look at the menu for the bar and was disgusted. The next day we went down to the free* continental breakfast and were rudely greeted by another Italian man. We got our food, ate it there, and left. We asked where our new room would be, and he gave us the key and we moved in. We finally had a descent room, it was small but manageable. The "hardwood flooring" is just a cheap print on, and is quite tacky when not looked at through photoshopped pictures. Then I opened the bathroom door and was in awe. The shower, the sink, and the toilet were all within 6 inches of each other. There was absolutely no room at all. I looked at the minibar we had in the room and the prices were outrageous, 4 euros for a little bottle of water. I then asked the rude man at the front desk where we were on one of the maps they have in the lobby. He looked at it, and confidently said where the hotel was and how to get to the station. Turns out, where HE said we were was actually off by 2 kilometers, and the hotel was not on that map either. When it was time to go to sleep the room was hot and muggy, we opened the window, which was actually nice, and heard nothing but cars driving, loud music, honking, and dogs barking. I kept the window open and listened to my mp3 to get some sleep. In the mornings you can hear room service 5 doors down because the walls are paper thin. Every time a door is opened, closed, or knocked on, it sounds like it is your door. I kept having to make sure they weren't at our door. Finally I put the "Do not disturb" sign on, and when I was taking a shower, they barge in. All in all the hotel "looks" nice, but it is a major inconvenience and they want to charge for everything. It seems that the employees there don't actually enjoy being nice, they just have to. And if you are American and try to talk to them, they have a snobby attitude. I give this hotel 1 star because that is the lowest this site will allow me to put. Stay away from this. it is nowhere near any of the sites. We passed about 15 hotels that were closer to the sites than this one. You deserve better.
