If you're visiting the famous Roman Colosseum, consider checking into the Sandy Hostel. The location is pretty unbeatable ? you're near two major metro stations and the city bus, and there are loads of restaurants and bars nearby. The Sandy has been in business since 1990, and they're not going to win any awards for organization or management, but this small hostel has what you need, and staff is incredibly welcoming. There are lockers, free luggage storage, hot showers, and no curfew. Walking tours can be arranged at the front desk.
