Argonaut Backpackers is easy to find, located in Old Riga which is the most central location for Riga. 300 metres from the International Bus Station, 100 metres from the Bus Stop to the Airport and 400 metres from the Train Station. Argonaut is very close to Gallerija Shopping Centre in Old Riga.

Argonaut's address is 50 Kaleju Street which is a medieval street with and cafes in the old town of Riga City.

From The Bus Station (Autoosta)

We are a short walk of 300 metres. You leave the Bus Station and turn left towards Old Riga by walking under the railway line as the railway is on a bridge above you. Then immediately walk down a few steps in to the underpass to get you to the other side of the road. Walk to the end of the underpass and take the left side steps back up. Once you emerge you should be facing a small park to the left and a cobbled road to the right. Walk across the park towards Monte Kristo Hotel and you will then come on to the Argonaut Backpackers Hostel street called Kaleju Iela. Then turn right and walk 50 metres to number 50 which is the Argonaut Backpackers Hostel building. The reception is on the floor above the ground floor.

From The Airport (Lidosta)

There is an airport bus that starts at 5:30am and finishes at 10:30pm . The bus stop to get on this bus 22 or 22A is located on the opposite side of the Airport carpark that you will see once you exit the airport. It departs around every 20 minutes and costs just 30 local cents (santimes). I recommend that you take a taxi as the red taxis at the airport have meters you can trust. The meter will start at 1.2 santimes with additional 40 santimes for each kilometre. So the total fair will be around 7 lats to get to Argonaut. Tell the driver you want to go to Old Riga and the Audeju Iela entrance to Old Riga. The journey takes about 15 or 20 minutes and is very direct using only about 4 roads. You will know you are at Audeju Iela when you see an electronics game arcade on the left and a Nord LB cash machine on the right and the boom gates in front of you. Get out of the taxi at those boom gates and walk directly straight ahead. The Argonaut Backpackers Hostel street is Kaleju Iela and the 3rd street on the left that is only about 50 metres from the boom gates. Once you turn left on to Kaleju Iela we are 20 metres on the left. The reception is on the floor above the ground floor.

From The Ferry Port (Pasazieru Osta)

The port is only about 4km from Old Riga. I recommend that you take a taxi and agree the price of 3 or 4 lats with the driver before you start as the Port taxis are not very ethical. Tell the driver you want to go to Old Riga and the Audeju Iela entrance to Old Riga. The journey takes about 5 or 10 minutes and is very direct using only about 3 roads. You will know you are at Audeju Iela when you see an electronics game arcade on the left and a Nord LB cash machine on the right and the boom gates in front of you. Get out of the taxi at those boom gates and walk directly straight ahead. The Argonaut Backpackers Hostel street is Kaleju Iela and the 3rd street on the left that is only about 50 metres from the boom gates. Once you turn left on to Kaleju Iela we are 20 metres on the left.

From The Train Station (Centrala Stacija)

The most difficult part with the train station is finding your way out to the correct exit. What will help you is first finding a pizza place called Pedro Pizza that is inside the train station. Then find the very tall Riga Clock that is outside from Pedro Pizza. From the Riga Clock you will have the station building to your back and you will be facing Janvara and Marijas street. Walk to Janvara street and a little to the left and you will find an underpass to get you to the other side of the road. Take the left stairs at the end of the underpass and then on this new side of the road walk along the footpath that takes you over some water. Keep walking along that path next to the road and after about 100 metres you will see the Metropole Hotel on the right. Cross the road separating you from the Metropole and walk to the left side of the Metropole past it. There you will see another underpass bringing people from the Bus Station and from the picture theatre , in front of you will be a small park. Walk across the park and towards Monte Kristo Hotel and you will then come on to the Argonaut Backpackers Hostel street called Kaleju Iela. Then turn right and walk 50 metres to number 50 which is the Argonaut Backpackers Hostel building. The reception is on the floor above the ground floor.
