Irish bars, Soviet food, Latvian nightclubs, Jazz, walk down Robert Wagner Street, visit Doma church, 13th century, which has one of the biggest working church organs in Europe - over 6,000 organ pipes. Visit Soviet style central markets, opera house, sip herbal tea in one of the many cafes, sit in one of the parks. Drink vodka like the locals still do.

Dorm rooms face the main square. Easy walk from main bus and train station. Ask
us for a list of non tourist night clubs and cheap eat places. Rigaoutthere and Partyinriga nightclub and bar tours arranged. Most danceclubs are opened till 06:00 Thu, Fri and Sat.

From the Airport:


Riga international airport (RIX lidosta) is a modern small airport recently rebuilt. Cash machine and money exchange on arrival level. Distance to city - about 10 km.

The bus stop is located on the other side of the airport carpark. Follow the zebra crossing . Bus 22 and 22a runs about every 30 mins and only costs a cheap 0.25 Lats to the city. Travel time - about 25 mins. Conductor on bus will give ticket & change. Get off immediately after crossing Vansu Bridge/ Daugava River.

The hostel is about 400 metres and six streets from here. Cross the 6 lane main road called Novembra Krastmala (November Street).

You can cross the road by using the city underpass tunnels.

Ask directions to Doma Square or just look for the tallest church, Doma Church, (the church has a 5 metre gold colour clock at top) which is on Doma Square.

The taxi rank is on departure level and the red taxi service awaits. Taxi ride is about 15 mins to city. Costs about 8 Lats, not more. Make sure the meter is on.

From train station:


Centrala stacija (the central train station ) has a modern shopping centre and money machines and is next to old Riga.

Cross the 6 lane main road called 13 Janvara Iela (13 January street ) via city underwalk tunnel systems. Hostel is about 500 metres and or 7 streets away. Ask for directions to Doma Square or look for the tallest church, Doma Church ( the church has a 5 metre gold cplour clock at top) and walk that way. Doma hostel faces Doma Square.

From bus station:


Autoosta (central bus station ) is next to Old Riga. The station is not modern and watch your wallet. Cash machines and tourist office are there. Its an easy 500 metre walk to the hostel. Ask directions to old town or look for the tallest church, Doma Church, which has a 5 metre gold colour clock at top and walk that way.

Doma hostel faces Dome square. Look for the Double Coffee sign. We are opposite that.
