You will be in an area, where the locals live and hang around in many cosy bars&cafes, but at the same time just few minutes walking distance away from all main tourism objects, central station and airport bus stop!

Our hostel is located in a 140 year old flat, which is newly renovated, successfully keeping the atmosphere of an old aristocratic apartment and adding modern needs of a nowadays person.

First it used to be a very prestigious salon of a wealthy Russian family in the end of the 19th century. After the first period of Latvia as an independent country (1918-1940) it, like many other apartments, was made into a communal flat for three families, which lived there until 1995. While renovating the flat we found more than 25 different types of wallpapers, and we have kept the most aesthetic things in the interior.

There are only 4 rooms (as in the famous movie of the nineties ...), every one of which is made in completely different colors and styles, so everyone at the arrival can choose whether to live in, for example, a completely white room with black/white photos, or red & golden room in style of the 19th century.

We have a huge living room with several sofas, a big table, typing-machine (for writing those nice old style letters), a computer with an Internet connection, and a Stereo system. Internet is also accessible in the rooms if you have your own computer with wireless connection possibilities.

As we are very interested in giving the widest information we can about Latvia, we have gathered a huge collection of all kinds of Latvian music - starting from classical and folk songs - ending with hip-hop and rock music in Latvian.

But THE MOST IMPORTANT THING about our hostel IS YOU. Because people make the atmosphere of the place and the interior is made to underline your comfort.

All of our staff members speak ENGLISH, RUSSIAN and LATVIAN, some of them speak ITALIAN, FRENCH, SPANISH, JAPANESE, SWEDISH and GERMAN. They are young and have traveled a lot. They study cultures and languages, so you will have somebody to talk about things you are interested, as well as about yourself, cause WE ARE INTERESTED IN YOU.

In our block you will find - NEW RIGA THEATER, which is the best and most known theatre in Riga with lot of events, spectacles and concerts. CINEMA DAILE - which is one of the cheapest cinemas in Riga and a lot of clothes stores.

Within 2 minutes walk you can reach more than 8 cafes & bars with different cuisines - starting from one of the best restaurants in town ?Osiris', where you can meet a lot of artists and creative people, ending with krishnaite vegetarian cafe ?Raama'. Bar & restaurant ?ISTABA' which got award for the best design last year is just across the street. A supermarket is also just around the corner and you can see the parking lot on the other side of the street and they charge 10 euros a day.(Saturdays&Sundays for free).

We have made a list of things you maybe would like to do - a guide to second hand shops, where you can find very interesting clothes and the most important thing - they will cost you nothing. Then a guide for those who like architecture, especially wooden architecture, 'cause we got a wonderful wooden houses in the neighborhood.
