About Us-The-Locals! Home

Us-The-Locals! Home, Nasaud, is situated 109 km away from Cluj, on the fast train route connecting Cluj and Suceava.

We offer comfortable accommodation and flexible guided tours in Nasaud and the Somes Valley.

Us-The-Locals! Home is a great starting point for visiting traditional sights, such as a wooden water wheel, or an old small church made entirely of wood. You can also go hiking, biking, fishing or bird watching in the region. We organise day trips within an area of 50 km around Nasaud. We give you explanations in English/French about each of the places you choose to visit.

Our double bed rooms are comfortable and clean. The bathrooms come with toilet, bath tub and shower. At lunch and dinner we offer cooked meals. The local farms provide us with healthy food such as free range eggs, fresh milk, yoghurt and cheese.

We offer access to cable TV and international phone, as well as free parking in the yard near the house. We are friendly and easy-going, ready to chat over a cup of tea.

Once on the eastern border of the Austrian empire, Nasaud is today at a crossroads between the urban and rural Europe. By visiting Nasaud, you can catch a glimpse of the last living traces of Europe's authentic rural tradition.

Directions

Fly to "Cluj", then take a taxi to the train station.
Reliable taxis: Terra Fan, Pritax, Diesel (the equivalent in lei: about 4 euro from the airport up to the station).

Alternatively, a bus ticket (in Cluj) should cost about 0,5 euro.

The train ticket Cluj-Nasaud costs 3 euro. The trip to Nasaud will take 2 hours.

"Us-The-Locals! Home" is a 15min. walk from the train station and 5 min. from the centre of the town. We can pick you up from the train station when you arrive.

Fast trains Cluj-Nasaud, leaving Cluj at:
8.50 a.m. (Oradea-Galati fast train), you arrive in Nasaud at 10.50 a.m.
12.59 p.m. (Timisoara-Iasi fast train), you arrive in Nasaud at 2.59 p.m.
9.40 p.m. (Timisoara-Iasi fast train), in Nasaud at 11.23 p.m.

Back to Cluj from Nasaud:
Iasi-Timisoara fast train: 1.21 p.m. Nasaud - 3.35 p.m. Cluj
Galati-Oradea fast train: 6.54 p.m. Nasaud - 8.54 p.m. Cluj
To return to Cluj we can also drive you to Salva (a 5 minute drive from Nasaud), so that you can get on an early fast train to Cluj.
