  • The staff were friendly and accommodating (especially after a heavy night!) and couldn't do enough for us.
    Beds were comfortable, bathroom ok, 24 hour access and cctv outside. A bit far to walk to royal mile for fringe festival, but nevertheless great for what we needed.

  • When you just need a cheap bed at night and a shower in the morning (like me), this is a place you can go.

    But be aware of these experiences of mine:
    - The staff is partially unfriendly
    - The organisation is horrible (Key cards sometimes didn't work any more and linen was removed from beds, because the staff was thinking, the guest checked out already)
    - The bathrooms are not cleaned very thoroughly and only every couple of days.
    - In at least one of the showers there was only cold water
    - And at least in the week I was there (17-21 July 2008) I was awakened by construction works in the street in front of the hostel
