The Merith House Hotel is situated approximately 1 mile from Princess Street. A mere 5-10 minutes from both the city centre and Leith Docks (where there are a host of cosy restaurants and wine bars to relax in), we make the perfect location for the tourist and the business traveller. Why not take the opportunity to visit the former Royal Yacht Britannia, who rests in the docks only five minutes away.

It has an excellent base for those enjoying a more leisurely break, located on a main bus route, we benefit from easy access to all of Edinburgh's major attractions. Visit the Palace of Holyrood, the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Malt Whisky Heritage Centre, Edinburgh Castle, or perhaps enjoy a spot of shopping on Princes Street or the Royal Mile.

The hotel boasts seventeen spacious bedrooms. Fourteen are en-suite and four 4 standards(which have toilets just outside the bedroom), some offering fantastic views over the Leith Links, a championship golf course back in the 15th Century. All are comfortably furnished to a high standard, with TV and hospitality tray, while the hotel is centrally heated throughout. At the end of the day you can relax in our lounge bar. If you fancy a quiet night we can prepare you an evening meal - please let us know in advance.

Your room key will unlock our front door giving you unrestricted access, whatever time you return. Ample free car parking is available in our private car park to the rear of the hotel.

If you enjoy the theatre, visit the Edinburgh Playhouse, or if you prefer the wide screen we are only 10 minutes drive from the multi-screen UCI Cinema at Newcraighall, also home of the Megabowl. Portabello Beach is only a mile away, while Leith Waterworld and the Royal Commonwealth Pool are also close by.

Minimum nights stay applies to following periods:
4 nights for New year (29 Dec - 2 Jan) ;
3 nights for Rugby/ Easter weekends in (Feb, March, Apri, Mayl)
2 nights for all weekends.
