GETTING THERE
International Travellers

Air
The nearest major airport to The Burgh Lodge is Edinburgh (37 miles). The other major airports in Scotland - Glasgow and Aberdeen - are also within easy reach either by road or railway connections


Ferry
The new ferry terminal at Rosyth (27 miles) provides direct access to mainland Europe via the port of Zeebrugge.

UK Travellers

Train
The nearest railway stations to Falkland are Markinch (5 miles) and Ladybank (5 miles) and these stations are well served by the main North Eastern Railway Links (London, Edinburgh and Aberdeen). See Scotrail's website for timetables etc. or

car (from Edinburgh)
it takes between 45-50 minutes to drive to Falkland. From the airport, city bypass, or city centre follow the signs for the Forth Road Bridge (80 pence toll required). After crossing the bridge stay on the M90 north to junction 2a, the A92, signposted Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes and St Andrews. Continue on the A92 passing the Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes exits. After passing Glenrothes the A92 narrows to single carriageway before returning to a short stretch of duel carriageway. At the end of this stretch is a large roundabout, 'The New Inn Roundabout'. Turn left here onto the A912, signposted Falkland, which is approximately 2 miles.


car (from Glasgow)
It takes about 1 hour 20 minutes to drive to Falkland. On leaving the airport or city centre follow signs for the Kincardine Bridge. After crossing the bridge take the A977 (signposted Perth) to the Kinross Service Area. Join the M90 northbound to junction 8, the A91 signposted St Andrews. At Strathmiglo, turn right onto the A912 signposted Falkland, which is approximately 3.5 miles.


car (from Aberdeen or Dundee)
Follow signposts to the Tay Road Bridge (80 pence toll required). After crossing the bridge stay on the A92 for between 20-25miles until reaching a large roundabout, 'The New Inn Roundabout'. Turn right here onto the A912, signposted Falkland, which is approximately 2 miles. (There are alternative, shorter routes signposted off the A92 to Falkland but this is the most straightforward).


bus
A number of bus routes interconnect with Falkland, many using Glenrothes as a hub. Most timetables are kept at The Lodge and our staff will be delighted to help plan your journey. Alternatively, ring Travel Line Scotland (see below).
