More than hundred years of family tradition?

The Alpenrösli situated at one of the most beautiful spots in Giswil, experienced numerous highlights in the last a hundred years.

In the summer 1895 Simon Bucher bought the Alpenrösli. This was the great-grandfather of the present owner Barbara Vidoni. Simon Bucher founded the Alpenrösli, and established a one-hundred-year family tradition.

Until the year 1939 Bucher led the restaurant and sold it to Lina Berchtold - Bucher. Lina and Bernhard Berchtold - Bucher were in charge of the Alpenrösli and their guests during thirty years until the year 1969.

From 1969 to 1993 Benny and Augusta Berchtold - Armbruster led with a rich tradition the Alpenrösli. It was they who expanded and constructed new buildings in different stages.

In the fourth generation, Barbara Vidoni is now the owner of the hotel Alpenrösli AG. In the spring of 2001 the Alpenrösli dressed itself in a new garment. In a construction that lasted 4 months different renewals were carried out.

Restaurant and halls were gently renovated. Two beautiful, bright seminar rooms (with ISDN-connection) are available now. The new big sheltered sun terrace with marvellous panoramic mountain views, offers place for approx. 75 persons.

A garden with relaxing chairs, children's playground, bowling and the Wüesti-bar makes the offer complete.

With strong support and the aid of our friend and artist Robi Ottiger a kingdom for body and soul was created, an experience bath installation with swimming pool, a mental and earth sauna, two single whirlpools, an eucalyptus steam bath, experience showers, a footbath and a solarium. The Wellness facilities are accessible to everyone.
