    Greetings,

Ok, so I am planing on coming to Europe to visit a friend in Paris.
The two of us are looking to travel around a bit while I am there.

I am on a limited budget and am trying to guess how much I need to have available in the bank for the trip.
I have bought the flights, so its just spending and travel money when I am in Europe.

One of the things we are trying decide is what to do about housing accommodations in a couple countries:Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic.

I suggested just using Hostels, but she is worried about cleanliness and safety of these.

I am worried about the cost of doing hotels, which is her preference.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to start researching or comparing hotels, hostels and Bed and Breakfasts? Does anyone have an opinion?

    Thanks in advance.

    MTM

If you do enough research, you can book beds in hostels where it's 2 people to a room and you won't have to worry about having others in a dorm-style room. Read user reviews to get a feel for cleanliness and safety, too.

If you're looking for budget hotels that are really good, check out http://www.eurocheapo.com - there are a ton of great places in the locations you mentioned. Good luck!
