Frequently Asked Questions

Ok. You’ve taken the first step. Maybe you’re just confused by something on the site or a page won’t load. You need answers now. To begin the support process, simply choose an area with which you're having difficulties. And, remember, you’re not alone.

1) How do I make a booking?

EuropeanHostels.com is not a booking website. Instead, EuropeanHostels.com makes it easy for travelers to quickly find the best youth hostels and budget hotels out there, and displays rates from a variety of hostel and hotel reservation agencies.

Once you’re ready to make a booking, simply click on the price that we display and we’ll transfer you directly to the reservation agency with the lowest price to complete your booking.

Sounds easy? It is!

2) I need to change my reservation. What do I do?

Sometimes plans change and you need to change reservations. Don’t worry. What you’ll need to do is directly contact the reservation agency with your confirmation number and they’ll be able to help you update your reservation.

3) Do hostels have age restrictions?

While most hostels do not impose an age restriction, this is not always the case, particularly in establishments which have a bar on the premises. Again, it is recommended that you check the hostel’s details to find out whether or not there is an age restriction. Hostels that do restrict guests with a minimum or maximum age limit should clearly display this information. Normally, it is 18-35 years old.

4) Do I need to be a member to stay in a hostel?

No. You do not need to be a member in order to stay in a hostel. Some hostels do offer discounts for various card-holding members, but membership is never a requirement.

5) I forgot my username and/or password. Can you help?

Don’t worry. Simply click the "Forgot your password?" link under the "my account" tab.  Then follow the on-screen instructions in order to retrieve your username and/or password.

6) Do hostel owners pay to be listed on your site?

No. Hostel owners need not pay to be listed on our site. This service is free of charge.
