Located in Huertas and Santa Ana, the Mad Hostel is situated in a renovated building that includes a gym and Satellite TV (not exactly a traditional hostel). The Mad Hostel also has a roof top terrace with bar that's open late. No curfew.
If you're looking to party and don't mind sharing a room this is a great hostel. If you're looking to sightsee a lot and get up early (as we were) it works for that too. Definitely a backpackers hostel. Good location, clean bathrooms and fairly friendly and helpful staff (depending on who's there) would highly recommend to any backpacker. Met some cool people there too!
The staff is helpful enough, verrrry cute. The hostel was clean, but the rooms were very hot and cramped in a four-person room. The common room was great, met tons of fun people. The location is fabulous. Right next to Puerto del Sol. Within walking distance of most everything...we never used the metro. The kitchen is very small, and there was a long wait, but it's the best time we've had in a hostel yet.
