  • The Youth Hostel Van Gogh (also known as Chab) is located in the area of Brussels where Vincent Van Gogh once worked (hence the name). The Van Gogh provides dormitory-style rooms that are male and female specific. In addition to same-gender rooms, the Van Gogh has a restaurant, bar, BBQ area, and bike parking. Internet access, laundry facilities, security lockers, luggage storage, and a concierge are also available. No curfew.

Property Description

For more than 25 years we have been accommodating thousands of backpackers, students, trainees, artists from all over the world in one of the grooviest and cheapest youth hostel in Brussels. (Save money to eat waffles, chocolate and mussels!!!)*
This has brought an incredible open-minded atmosphere in the place where the famous Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh used to work. Facilities: no curfew, breakfast included, laundry and KITCHEN; Groovy bar with more than 20 different Belgian beers, friendly multilingual staff, free locker-room, centrally located, guided tours (Brussels, Brugge, Antwerp, hop on hop off);lock-out from rooms from 10am until 2pm, daily cleaning.

To our female travellers: it's sometimes possible to change rooms to stay in single-sex dorms (female rooms) even if there were any left the day you have sent your booking. There are sometimes cancellations which allow that:)

Also, same thing for the lovers, if you travel as a couple, we'll try to put you together in a mixed room if it's possible.

Directions

Several possibilities depending how you arrive :

By Air:
From International Airport Zaventem (airport code: BRU):
Take the train shuttle to the north train station then see below
from Charleroi airport (Ryan air flight, airport code :CRL)
take the bus shuttle to Brussels midi/zuid train station then see below

From North train Station/or euroline bus terminal:
Take the bus n°61(direction montgommery) and get off at the stop 'Traversiere' .
You can also walk. It takes about 10-15 minutes, from the North train station. Go to 'Place Rogier', then walk up 'Boulevard du jardin Botanique' until you arrive at the 'Botanique' then see below subway station.


From Central train Station
Take the subway line A, direction 'Herman-Debroux', then stop and get off at 'Arts/Loi-Kunst/Wet' station. Then take the subway line 2, direction 'Simonis'. Get off at station 'Botanique' then see below subway station.. From central train station, you can also take the 'BUS n°65 (direction BOURGET)or 66( direction CIMETIERE BRUXELLES)' and get off at the stop Meridien. Walk on in 'rue du Meridien' until you cross our 'rue Traversiere'.


From South train Station 'ZuidStation' in Flemish or 'Gare du Midi' in French)
Then take the subway line 2, direction 'Simonis'. Get off at station 'Botanique' (then see below).

From subway station Botanique
Walk in 'Rue royale' towards a big church (in the north direction) and let the botanique garden (on your left) and the big building with glasses (called vivium) on your right.Follow the railway track. At the first traffic lights, turn right (there's a newspaper shop at the corner), then walk up straight .You'll see flags from our hostel within a stone's thrown
