There's no doubt that Isaacs Hostel is a hosteller favorite. Right outside the doors of this former wine cellar/warehouse, we were greeted by an international community of relaxed smokers leaning against the building's 18th-century stone walls.
Dorm rooms house six to 16 beds. There are single, double, triple, and quad rooms decked out with blue metal bunk beds and plaid curtains as well. Sheets and blankets are included, but towels have to be rented out at reception. The front desk located behind a gaping entrance resembles a medieval dining hall, in which guests can help themselves to a cup of tea, use the Internet, or just lounge on one of the big, old wooden benches. More grottos and tunnels in the basement continue the cavernous setting, where dwellers can find video games, a pool table, TV lounge, guest kitchen, self-service laundry facilities, and an expansive luggage storage room.
Isaacs is next to a semi-formal Italian restaurant. The hostel shares a beautiful garden with nearby buildings. This garden acts as the hostel's smoking lounge and a BBQ pad during the summer months.

The Isaacs was full of people and seemed like a great place to meet people with plenty of facilities for backpackers as well as a more or less perfect location; unfortunately we got there at the end of our trip and were exhausted, but the bar across the street was so loud late into the night it was all but impossible to sleep. Still, if you're going to Dublin with lots of energy and plans to enjoy the nightlife, would definately recommend it.
