Haven't found a hotel that floats your boat? Try going to one of Stolkhom's other boat hotels, the LogInn Hotel, on the northern edge of Sodermalm. It brings a lot of ambiance and is perfect if you don't like sharing bathrooms with your neighbor.
LogInn's 29 rooms and en suite bathrooms are a bit on the smaller side. The decor is cheerful even if simple, the bedding is nice, and the furniture is plain. The common areas are tastefully decorated with a nautical theme and the bar is pretty spacious. The lounge has a wooden bar, stocked with beers in bottles and on tap. The restaurant, offering "typical Swedish cuisine" serves lunch and dinner. The outside deck has faux ivy, colored stage lights, and picnic tables. During the summer, on Friday and Saturday nights LoggInn often offers live entertainment consisting of cover bands performing their takes on old pop songs.
Easy to find, great central location - easy walking distance to most of great sights.
Beautiful views from rooms facing away from dock. We had one facing the Townhall - gorgeous view and lovely little porthole windows. Heating was on too so it was lovely and cosy.
Breakfast was nice, very fresh. Rooms are very very small. Enough for a short trip but if you need more space then you might want to think again. The rooms have basics and are clean but you cant really spend any time in them - especially if you are more than one person. But staff are helpful.
We had a great short trip, only down fall is that the boat (despite being very stable and didnt move at all) our room was on a slight slant and so sleeping in the bed you tended to roll to one size and our bed (120cm) was quite small. Otherwise - good.
Hope that helps!
