• If you want something comfy, homey and intimate then drop your bags at the Mentone Hotel.
  
  Decorated with a subtle hint of hip-ness, the Mentone has a lot of surprising accents like doorways with diamond-shaped windows cut into them, bathroom mirrors embellished with tiles, and mod chairs that take their retro cues from the '50s.
  
  Rooms are pretty sizeable for a London B&B. The furniture has that "my-first-'80s-apartment" look with floral bedspreads and correlating lampshades and curtains. Framed prints hang on the walls, and the bathrooms are incredibly clean.
  
  If you still need more retro in your life then just visit the television lounge which seems to come straight out of a 1970s British comedy. It offers a fun mix of antique wood furniture, old couches, and even an old fireplace with a marble mantle. Stay here in colder months and it might be roaring with fire while cricket games buzz on the television.
