We were booked as a group, occupying 4 of the 7 rooms. On our 4th night, one of the rooms was robbed while the occupants were asleep. This was through 3 locked doors, indicatin an in-side job. The manager was quite indifferent to the situation, even when the police called him. We moved to the nearby (and great) Broadway Hostel.
"Never stay here ever! There are nicer cheaper places in the area. "
Bed bugs, no power, and a robbery are all reasons to not stay at this hostel. Unsafe, unclean and staff no where near present. Whoever broke in had to have two different keys to even get on the floor. Horrible. Do Not Stay HereI would give this place a zero.
We were robbed. There was no way it was an outside job because there were no locks broken. My roommates had mysterious bites on their ankles, and the "continuous hot water" that we were told existed in the showers, was in fact, a lie. I had to take cold showers, get eaten by bed bugs, have money stolen from me by some random person with a key to my room, and I have incredible back pain from the inferior bed framework. There were no staff that I saw after I picked up the key to my room, and there was no check in desk, information desk, or anything of the sort. There was mold in the shower, and no toilet paper. DON'T GO! The Broadway Hostel is so much better!
It was clean and the staff was nice but it was disappointing because it has nothing to do with the pictures, its very small, there are no candles and the roses are made of plastic...The building was even a litle bit scarry. But the location is not bad, there are a few pubs around and the opera building is just around the corner.
