  • Another blueprint of Dublin hostels, the Ashfield House, has 26 rooms that face the street, and have modest views of the spirited D'Olier Street down below. Aside from being fairly close to Temple Bar, there's little at Ashfield that's extravagant or atmospheric, but it's a more than satisfactory place to stay.

Ashfield is divided between dorm and hotel rooms where the latter are clean and light, with fundamental facilities and furnishings. It's not boring but not astonishing either. You'll feel like you're in a college dorm meeting room while in the lounge area where comfy sunken couches and round tables are the norm. And like many college dorms, Ashfield even has a pool table.

  • The location of this place is great, really nice and easy to get to and to explore Dublin from. The common spaces are nice and I had no problems with the room. It was nothing outstanding but very reasonable all around.
