  • It was a very nice place. It had a nice comfortable living/common room. The rooms themselves were very spacious and comfy and had tables, chairs and couches in them. I highly recommend. Location isn't perfect but close to Metro.

Property Description

Berlin - Germany's most international city - is a city that never sleeps.

With three opera houses, 150 theaters, 170 museums and galleries, 130 movie theaters, and numerous bars, clubs, and discos, Berlin is the cultural capital of Germany.

In Berlin you can see the meeting of East and West like nowhere else. Berlin is a large city with two city centers, a result of the former division of the city.

One is the 'Old West Berlin,' located around Berlin's grand boulevard, the Kurfürstendamm. This area includes the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church near the Europa-Center, the famous department store Kaufhaus des Westens and the modern architecture of the Kranzler Eck, the historical Theater des Westens and the hi-tech 'Story of Berlin,' the Käthe Kollwitz Museum and the Zoologischer Garten. A little further away is the largest and nicest palace in Berlin, the Schloss Charlottenburg.

The other city center, located in the heart of the former East Berlin, is where you can find the Brandenburg Gate, the Museum Island (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999), the Gendarmenmarkt, and classic Prussian architecture along Unter den Linden.

The Hostel 'Die Etage' is centrally located in the western half of the city, only minutes away from the Kurfürstendamm- the main street of the former West Berlin. You will have an ideal starting point to explore all Berlin has to offer. We are a quiet, family-run hostel and our knowledgeable staff is available to answer your questions and provide advice on what to see and do in Berlin.
