• Hotel Ateneo, a quirky but fun combination between prim and seedy is a three-star business class hotel located on Calle Montera; a street leading from Gran Via to Plaza Sol best known for sex shops and prostitutes.
   
  The hotel itself is chic and sparkling. The fixtures, modern bathrooms equipped with telephones and big televisions, give off that new car feel that we all enjoy. The bedding in each room and glass bathroom sinks look like they came straight out of a modern designer magazine. But Ateneo's high ceilings are old school and remind us that the building dates back to the 18th century.
   
  Ateneo has a free Internet workspace in the salon downstairs, and each room also has free ADSL Internet, nice toiletries, and a minibar.

The hotel Ateneo is situated in the historic centre of Madrid, 20 meters away from the Puerta del Sol, on a historic building constructed before 1774, and after reformed by the great architect Ventura Rodriguez.

Its location makes it an ideal starting point for short walks to many of Madrid's most interesting sites: Triangle of Art (Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Museum) The Royal Palace, The Plaza Mayor, churches, monuments, shopping, restaurants, theatres, and many different club and discos.

Each 38 rooms have bathroom with telephone and hair-drier, telephone with ADSL line mini bar security box air conditioning.

We also have a fax service and can arrange for excursions to other cities around Madrid.
