Hotel Ateneo, a quirky but fun combination of prim and seedy, is a three-star business class hotel located on Calle Montera; a street leading from Gran Via to Plaza Sol best known for sex shops and prostitutes.
The hotel itself is chic and sparkling. The fixtures, modern bathrooms equipped with telephones and big televisions, give off that new car feel that we all enjoy. The bedding in each room and glass bathroom sinks look like they came straight out of a modern designer magazine. But Ateneo's high ceilings are old school and remind us that the building dates back to the 18th century.
Ateneo has a free Internet workspace in the salon downstairs, and each room also has free ADSL Internet, nice toiletries, and a minibar.
