This New Zealander owned and operated Hostel in the heart of the former East Berlin district Friedrichshain, will directly connect YOU to the nightlife, culture and history of this exciting city, Berlin.

Our rooms are clean and serviced daily by our freindly staff.

The Schlafmeile Hostel has one HUGE common room with TV and full kitchen..Supermarket is just around the corner .Also there is a games room with Pool Table ,Table Tennis and Darts.Or just sit down with the feet up and meet other travellers with a few drinks.

Blankets, sheets are provided by the hostel free of charge!

If you are travelling with a lap top you will be able to connect to our WiFi internet at our New Zealand cafe, free of charge!



Our friendly staff will supply you with everything you need for your stay in Berlin, free maps of the city, free walking tours, bike rental, and anything else you may need. Our staff are all locals so ask us where to eat and drink and party here in Friedrichshain, one of the most happening underground scenes in Berlin. However if relaxing is your priority, then spend the day relaxing in the many surrounding parks and spend the evening in the New Zealand Restaurant and bar on premises.Just
try to finish one of the homemade burgers(Veg burgers are also available) with homemade chips and i tell you ,its rocks and there are many other lovely dishes .

If it is culture you want to experience, the East Side Gallery (longest piece of Berlin Wall) is a 10 minute walk from our door, and Berlin highlights like the famous Museum Island, Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag are only 10 minutes by train.

All forms of public transport are easily accessible from our hostel, including Trams Underground (U Bahn) and overground (S Bahn). Plus it is simple to get here from the major train stations and airports.

Schlafmeile opened in 2005. We offer private apartments (sleeping 10), 4, 6 and 8 bed dorms. At the Schlafmeile we pride ourselves on our clean, friendly and comfortable Hostel here in the heart of Berlin. We are looking forward to seeing you soon here at the Schlafmeile, Berlin.

Directions

No matter how you are arriving in Berlin, finding the Schlafmeile is simple. Check out our map that accompanies these directions in the plot location plan.Takes two minutes to have a look and saves alot of stress ,please do it.

Check the Metro plan out ,when you arrive in Berlin .In every station are maps and are also free to take.

From Hauptbahnhof
Take the S-Bahn to Alexanderplatz and from there change over to the U5 and take the U5 direction Honow.Get off at Frankfurter Allee and follow the directions from below (step 1)See you then.


Ostbahnhof
If you arrive at Ostbahnhof Train Station:
Take the S-Bahn direction Ostkreuz (two stops away),change and from there take the s-bahn to Frankfurter Allee ( one stop away). Then follow the directions below (step 1 )

Step 1 Now a seven minute walk.You will come to the main road that is called Frankfurter Allee.Walk the direction towards Alexander Platz and to check that you are walking the right way.just walk onto the road and if you can see the T.V tower ,you no that you are on the right track.DO NOT WALK UNDER THE TRAIN BRIDGE(this is the wrong way).Take the second street on the left, this is Weichsel Strasse and you have done it.We are number 25 and you will have to cross over some tram tracks at the first street,but just keep walking straight and you will come to the Hostel on your left side.See you then.

From Schönefeld Airport:
Catch the Airport Express Train to Ostbahnhof and follow the directions from Ostbahnhof above and see you then

From Tegel Airport:
Catch the Airport bus to Alexanderplatz. Take the U5 from Alexanderplatz, in the direction of Hönow, jump off at Frankfurter Allee and then follow the directions above (STEP 1 )



Taxi:
Taxis are available from all airports and major train stations.
If you arrive via taxi, make sure that you ask for Weichselstrasse, Friedrichshain. NOT Neukölln.
