• If you're an artist, the Amaryllis is for you - you'll totally dig the faux finish of sponge paint that's in the reception area and guest rooms along with the art deco bar and lounge. The Amaryllis Hotel - not to be confused with the Amaryllis Inn - although slightly eccentric, is very simple as well. The nectarine and pink color-combo definitely stands out and the furnishings are sometimes mismatched, but you still have your standard tile (spic-and-span!) floors, and comfy beds. The management is also efficient, which of course, gets a thumbs up from us. It's close to Omonia Square, which, although is not our favorite neighborhood in Athens, is convenient to the mass transportation-traveler and the shopper alike.
