First impressions are everything, so it's good that the Hotel Economy's entryway caught our eye with modern signage and gigantic windows.
Situated between the Omonia and Monastiraki metro stations, the Economy is next to the well-renowned Athens' Central Market, hidden on a quiet street behind the city's Old Town Hall.
Taking after the Athens tradition, the Economy has a magnificent lounge area for what it is. The marble floors, leather couches, and flat-panel television are to die for. There's even a cute view of the square below.
The Economy has 56 rooms which are bland with wood floors and minimal furnishings. But, hey, it's called the Economy, not the Fancy. The beds come with heavy comforters and lackluster headboards. Alas though - the rooms are clean and in good shape. But some funky character and edge certainly wouldn't hurt.
