Most sights attracting tourists to Marseille, like the beach and maritime ports, are within easy walking distance from both the city center and the main train station.

Bus and Subway

The RTM system is made up of both buses and subways. Metro lines 1 and 2 both stop at the main train station and run north and south in the downtown area. If you plan to buy a ticket on the bus, be sure to have exact change.
