• The Cecil Hotel, located on Athinas St. near Monastiraki, has an enchanting sort of archaic feel to it that's prominent within the hotel's antique Otis Elevator and red emblem-splashed towels.
  
  The rooms are richly adorned with ornate furnishings. The floors are made of dark hardwood. One of the headboards dates back to mid-century modernism and blankets come in a shade of royal crimson. One of the rooms even has a matching wrought-iron bed frame, desk, and mirror.
  
  With tiny considerations like these, one can definitely assume that the hotel is not only well taken care of, but thoughtfully as well. Even the more crowded, triple rooms have cutesy touches to make them feel more folksy.
  
  The bathrooms, much to the delight of fussy guests, are fairly new and well taken care of. For the reserved social bugs, the bar/lounge has an intimate feel to it even though it's within earshot of reception.

The peaceful picturesque neighborhood of Plaka is only a short distance away. The post office, the National Telecommunication Company and the metro station in Monastiraki can be found only 100 meters away from the entrance of the hotel. Furthermore, Cecil Hotel offers easy walking access to numerous tavernas, restaurants and many places like cafes, nightclubs and cinemas, offering all forms of daytime and evening entertainment for which Athens is famous.
