  • Absolute Paris is a three-minute walk from Republique, an area full of monuments and tourists. It's also a great jumping-off point for the metro system, too.

The Absolute staff get an A+ for their English language skills, so you don't have to be fluent in French to stay here. The Absolute provides enough freebies to keep most hostellers happy, like WiFi, continental breakfast, linen, and a hot shower (they let you take two a day).

  • AT 33 YRS YOUNG I TOOK A TWO WEEK ADVENTURE TO EUROPE. I FIRST STAYED AT A HOSTEL IN AMSTERDAM FOR 6 DAYS. THE ACCOMODATIONS THERE WERE LESS THAN DESIRABLE, EVEN FOR A LOW PRICE.
WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE ABSOLUTE PARIS, I THOUGHT I WAS IN HEAVEN. EVERYTHING WAS VERY CLEAN AND FRESH. THE ROOMS HAD THEIR OWN BATHROOMS. IT WAS CONTEMPORARY AND THE STAFF WAS SUPER NICE. EVEN THE GUY DOWNSTAIRS IS O.K. WITH ME. SOME PEOPLE THOUGHT HE WAS RUDE. HOWEVER, I LEARNED THAT I WAS THE RUDE PERSON FOR NOT TAKING THE TIME TO LEARN A LITTLE FRENCH BEFORE TRAVELING. THE PLACE HAS AN ELEVATOR AND THREE COMPUTERS FOR EMAILING. THE BEDS ARE UNCOMFORTABLE, BUT MOST HOSTEL BEDS ARE. IF YOU HAVE BACK PROBLEMS, GET A HOTEL OR WALK AND STRETCH ALOT! THE BREAKFAST IS VERY HEALTHY AND FRESH. WELL WORTH WAKING UP FOR!

  • I was so excited about this hostel and even though the reviews said it was under minor renovations, I booked my stay. This hostel was terrible. For starters, do not believe a single word the brochure says, and do not look at the pictures for an accurate view into this hostel.
It starts in an unsafe neighborhood and your personal safety is completely ignored inside as well (the 24 reception includes a guy who sits outside and smokes all night).
Our room was so, so dirty. My friends blanket literally had poop on it. And when I asked the staff I was told that the laundry facilities have been broken and that is why "NOTHING HAS BEEN WASHED." discusting.
Also, everything is broken. Our window did not lock. The light switch is scotch-taped to the wall, the hair dryer was duck taped, the floor boards were falling apart, and the TV was sitting sideways in the closet.
The hallways and interior are also falling apart. For "renovations" taking place.. it sure seems more like they're just lazy people who blame their inability to clean on construction.
Honestly, if you care even a little about personal safety and health --- DO NOT STAY HERE! For all the reviews that make this hostel seem decent.. I truly do not know where they think they were staying.. this place is terrible.

  • Great people, very nice staff, good location free internet :D.
Ugly rooms, a little expensive. Good breakfast.
Why Editor's Pick? No idea. You better go to St. Christopher's Paris (The best place in Paris so far).
