Situated about a twenty-minute walk from all of central Rome’s main action, the family-run and friendly Hotel and Hostel Des Artistes is a hybrid property offering both private rooms and dorm beds. A youngish vibe is maintained via its age cap: no one older than 36-years can book a bunk.
Dorm rooms are spartan affairs with plain white walls and single beds. The communal shower room has plenty of stalls and is clean and shiny. Free lockers and luggage storage are part of the package too. And while breakfast is not included in the nightly rate, Artistes gives you a coupon to a café down the street.
A common area offers ample seating, lockers, a fridge, TV and vending machines.Wi-Fi is available for an extra fee. The hotel is literally a minute from Metro Linea B, a short walk from Termini Station and well-connected to the main bus routes.

The area north of Rome’s Termini Station is by no means the most charming part of the city. However, it is packed with affordable, and often charming, hotels. Walk west to reach the Piazza della Republica.
