A bit off the beaten path—it’s a 20-minute ferry ride into Venice’s more central terrain—Camping Fusina offers travelers a unique sleep option with lots of on-site extras. The camping facility, which calls itself a “tourist village,” has been under the same management for 45 years.

Private twin cabins are available here, with or without en suite facilities. All are air conditioned and linens are included in the nightly rate. There’s also luggage storage.

And if you need anything, the place has your needs covered. There’s a restaurant, laundromat, gym, market and more. A bus stop is located within walking distance and the ferry docks nearby. And get this: Camping Fusina boasts an Internet terminal that's (drum roll please!) situated on a converted double-decker bus.

My stay here was interesting. It is a little far from Venice itself but an easy bus ride. DO NOT let the people here persuade you to purchase a pass for their ferry to Venice. Their ferry does not put you close to what you want to see in Venice and it is at least 10 euros cheaper to purchase a public transportation pass, 24 hr, 48hr, 72hr, etc. that includes the bus and vaparetos. All the amenities like laundry, internet, their little market are extremely overpriced. The only good value was the food in their restaurant. If you are staying in their trailers they have been cleaned up because it smells like mildew. Although Fusina has some strange qualities, it was a nice change of pace from hostels.

Only stayed for two nights....but the cabin was perfect and the bathroom facilities were clean. Being able to catch the boat over to the island right from the campground was also a plus.
