Housed in a 1920s-era building, 1 Step From St. Peter's is fabulously located near the famous Prati. The ceilings are high, the floors are polished, and the windows are enormous.
Its rooms come in a variety of sizes, from cozy singles to gigantic doubles with seven-foot, mirrored armoires, sky-blue bed coverings, and tile floors so clean you could feast upon them. The communal breakfast area has a checkerboard tile floor, cushy white sofa, and big-screen TV.
As if that wasn't enough, the fun perk of 1 Step is the mini-apartment on the rooftop which is a true (frugal) lover's nest. In addition to the kitchen, bath, and enclosed solarium, it offers a view you'll simply faint over-and all for only $130! The one hitch is that staff aren't always able to communicate fluently in English. Oh well – how's your Italian?

Great location near a metro, safe neighbourhood, spotlessly clean, and free espresso and free internet. We were welcomed when we arrived and had no problem getting the money for the key deposit back. The shared bathroom was clean and no wait lines. I would stay here again and highly recommend it. I think it is a great place for couples, women traveling alone, and families.
