Free Things To Do in Barcelona

Free Things To Do in BarcelonaLearn about the Barcelona Card and the attractions you can visit "gratis."

Discounts

We are big fans of the Barcelona Card, a wonderful way to tour the city in a discounted sort of way, meaning up to 15%--50% off at 28 museums as well as plenty of other perks packed with percentages. The 24-hour card covers unlimited travel on all public transport.

Pick up a card at Sants train station, the tourist offices at the airport and at the Placa de Catalunya in the "Oficina de Informacio de Turisme de Barcelona." The card is sold to adults for €25 for two days.

Free Attractions

A free, leisurely stroll on La Rambla, through Parc Cuitadella and around Parc Guell can easily be as memorable as a tour through an indoor attraction. At any of the above sights, feel free to soak in the sights and sounds of the cacophony of Catalan culture.

Speaking of soaking, the beach is another perfect spot to people watch and catch some more of a the Spanish natural resources of Sun and sand.

Barcelona boasts many museums open to the public free of charge. Eat it up the good stuff at The Museum of Chocolate. See some art at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and enjoy the shade at the Parc de Montjuic.

All city museums are free on the first Sunday of each month, except the City History Museum, which is free on the afternoon of the first Saturday of the month.

EU citizens are granted free admission at specific times on certain days.
