• Our hearts went pitter-patter for the super-welcoming, 20-room Hotel Accademia in the heart of busy, multiethnic San Lorenzo. Here the outdoor kebab stands and Asian markets provide a fun contrast to the classic Florentine ambiance inside.
   
  Light streams in along the corridors, and numerous cozy common spaces make you feel at home in this 14th-century palazzo. The onetime home of artist Bernardo Cennini, its arches and marbled, painted walls maintain an arty, Florentine feel.
   
  Rooms are decorated in dark wood and red brocade, for an attractive, if not exactly classic feel. Ceilings are elegantly high. Large reproductions of Michelangelo and Rafael add a fun feel to the place. Blue-and white tiled bathrooms are big and clean.
   
  Signora Chimente has been running the place for over 20 years, and couldn't be cuter. She runs an artful palazzo.

Property Description

Hotel Accademia is located in an ancient building of the XIV century, house of an important Florentine sculptor, Bernardo Cennini, one of the authors of the famous doors of the city Baptistery.

In the Palace it is still possible to admire the beauty of the original stained-glass windows. The hotel has been recently restored and the corridors, and the common spaces are made from "Marmo di Carrara" (Carrara Marble) and the rooms have parquet-pavements.

All the rooms, finely furnished have a private bathroom, air conditioning; satellite TV, telephone, safe box and hair dryer.

It's also possible to use an Internet Point (located in the common spaces) and a quiet and relaxing Reading Room. In the hotel you'll also find a small but gracious garden where you can enjoy the Italian "dolce far niente" or drink a cocktail prepared at the well provided bar of the hotel.

An abundant buffet-breakfast will be served every morning in the wide hotel hall characterized by an ancient stone-made fireplace. The Accademia Hotel is located in the heart of Florence, in a perfect position either if you are in town for holidays or for work.

The central railway station of Santa Maria Novella, the Congress and the Business Palace are only five minutes walk from the Hotel.

The hotel is also very close to the wonderful Cappelle Medicee (Medici Chapels), where it is possible to admire some of the greatest Michelangelo's marble masterpiece, 50 metres from the cities impressive Dome and within a short walk from all the most important city churches and museums.

The hotel is easily reached by car and guests can park their car in a close garage at special prices. Our guests can also use the service of laundry on request.

The hotel staff offer a booking service for the city museums and exhibitions and for organized outdoors trips throughout Florence and Tuscany.
