Located within a ten-minute walk of some of Amsterdam’s most prized museums—including the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijks Museum—the Hostel Orfeo is a convenient not to mention budget-friendly place to stay.

Hostel Description: The giant Hostel Nieuw Slotania can accommodate 210 guests at once. It's located beyond Amsterdam’s city center, but there’s a bus and tram stop directly in front of the hostel’s front doors. If you want to go cheap and spread your wings, check this place out.

The Basics: Flying Pig Uptown
Situated in the Old Center of Amsterdam, close to the famous Rijksmuseum and within walking distance of Vondelpark, the Flying Pig Uptown offers both dorms and private rooms for less.

The Basics: Annemarie
Let’s talk about Annemarie. She’s a combo budget hotel and hostel. She’s located near major museums as well as Vondelpark in Amsterdam’s city center. People seem to like her and she’s cheap.

Hostel Description: The smoker-friendly Amsterdam Cribs, located in the Red Light District, is more B&B than hostel. In fact, all rooms here—albeit cheap—have private bathrooms and are apartment-style.

With easy proximity to Dam Square and Amsterdam’s Central Station, the self-proclaimed “design hostel” Heart of Amsterdam has budget rooms located in the Red Light District.

The Mevlana Hostel is a smallish place located in Amsterdam’s historic center. It’s got great proximity to all the major sights and offers 17 clean, comfy rooms for less.
